This Chana Masala, also known as Chole Masala, is an authentic North Indian style curry made with white chickpeas, freshly powdered spices, onions, tomatoes and herbs. Naturally vegan and packed with healthy minerals, protein and fiber, this delicious vegetarian meal can be ready in just 45 minutes minus the soaking time of chickpeas.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpeas
- 2 black cardamoms
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 3 to 4 black pepper
- 2 cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 2 teaspoon ginger girlie paste
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 mashed potato
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- ½ small pack coriander leaves, to serve
- Salt as required
- Cooking oil
