Hilsa Vorta is mainly made with laja, because firstly, belly fish is high in oil, and the Vorta is not good because of less fish. And besides, many times it is wasted if someone does not want to eat it. Making Vorta from it will not spoil the laja. Also, one can top it with gadar fish if desired. Ingredients
- Hilsa Fish – 1 Tail portions, clean and cut
- Onion – 1 -1/4 cup
- Dry Chillies – 5-6 pis
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Oil – 1/4 cup
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Mustard Oil – As required
