Dudh puli is a traditional pithe or pitha bengali and Makar Sankranti or poush sankranti (in Bengal) is the best moment to do so at home. Bengali Dudh puli means rice cake stuffed in the shape of a half moon or dumpling cooked in dudh or milk. In this bengali dudh puli soft recipe coconut-jaggery stuffed rice cake or dumpling is baked in jaggery mixed milk. But it is not so common jaggery rather it is a special winter date of Bengali jaggery palm known as nolen gur or non khejur gur in bengali.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of rice flour
- 1 1/4 cup of water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 lit milk
- 4 tsp suger
- 3 green cardamom(crushed)
- 1/2 cup jaggery
